Darren Reed is a mission-driven executive leader, experienced educator, and youth development advocate focused on expanding opportunity for young people and underserved communities. His leadership is grounded in an unwavering belief that all children are uniquely brilliant—a conviction shaped by his early career as an award-winning educator and school principal.
Over more than three decades, Darren has led growth and strategy across large-scale nonprofit and for-profit education organizations, including work across the education technology sector. He currently serves as Chief Growth Officer at Relay Graduate School of Education and previously held senior leadership roles at Stride, Inc. AND New Leaders.
A native of East Cleveland, Ohio, Darren’s work is driven by a lifelong commitment to ensuring that young people have access to the opportunities and support needed to thrive.

Darren addressed education leaders at the 7th Annual California Association of Black School Educators (CABSE) conference in Carlsbad, CA. Darren shared reflections on the impact that quality teaching has on improving the academic and social trajectory of under-served students. Darren spoke about the Stride Professional Development Center business that he leads and how it plays a vital role in helping transform professional learning for educators.
