Darren holds an unwavering belief that all children are uniquely brilliant, a belief rooted in his work as an award-winning educator. Darren has expanded his impact as a senior executive with over 30 years of leadership experience across multiple sectors, specializing in edtech, business development, and public policy advocacy. His deep insights into the challenges facing education position him as a leading figure in the transformation of both Education and EdTech.
Darren currently serves as Relay Graduate School of Education's Chief Growth Officer, bringing extensive leadership experience dedicated to improving educational opportunities for all students. In this role, he leads Relay's sales, partnerships, and marketing efforts. Previously, Darren served as Senior Vice President at Stride, Inc., where he scaled education and edtech companies, led product innovation, and managed a portfolio of K-12 schools. A former classroom teacher and school principal, Reed has also consulted for schools nationwide, advocating for policies that expand educational access and improve outcomes, particularly in underserved communities.
A first-generation college graduate, Darren’s career has been driven by a deep belief in the untapped potential of students in under-resourced communities. He has consulted for schools across the country, advocating for policies that expand educational access and improve outcomes for all students. Darren holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Hiram College and advanced degrees in education leadership from George Washington University and The College of William and Mary.

Darren addressed education leaders at the 7th Annual California Association of Black School Educators (CABSE) conference in Carlsbad, CA. Darren shared reflections on the impact that quality teaching has on improving the academic and social trajectory of under-served students.
